Definition of LACtoberfest

The LACS (Country Rappers) + Octoberfest; A

3 Day Music and Mud Festival held at The Big Nasty Mud Park;

An event that The LACS coordinates themselves for their

FANS as a way to say THANK YOU!

This event is paid for by The LACS, and a sponsor or two, and not promoted by any other entity; just the band members, their awesome management team, road crew, and friends/fans/volunteers. This year was the 3rd year of the festival, my first time going, and my birthday weekend sooooo; Absolutely BEST PARTY EVER in my opinion!!!

Talk about an honor and a challenge for any Country Music Journalist!! WOW!! Writing ONE article describing three days and nights of awesomeness!! That is impossible, there are really no words to describe the most fun that around 2,000 or more country girls and boys on ATV’s, Mud Trucks/All kinds of things on big tires.... then add Kicking Country Music, More Mud, Super Cool Partners, and reality TV show stars…

Properly describing this event could take up an entire weekly edition of a hometown newspaper, maybe even two!

GOOOOODNESS at the talent The LACS lined up for this event! This had to be Hick Heaven on Earth. The LACS alone, drew fans from all over the United States to Georgia for this event. Hint, Hint Georgia Department of Tourism; Rednecks as far as Michigan, Iowa, Arkansas, heck, all over the place came to “Get Dirty” and “Party Down South” LAC Style! Two of the crew from The CMT’s Reality Show “Party Down South”, Mattie and Tiffany were there with Average Joe’s Entertainment,  The Dreadknots, KraKen, Clint, and Kaitlyn from The History Channel’s “Ax Men”, and Kraken MC’d some of the time, so cool. I, personally have to thank, in addition to the whole LACs family, for being so kind to me; ALL THE BANDS, CLUB MUD and Team Deeep, for riding me around because I am no longer allowed ATV privileges, and that nice Bootlegger lady I don’t know. Oh, DANG! What a “Keep It Redneck” time it was!!! Title of of their latest album.

There was not one average band that played at this event, thus making it difficult to write one “article” on the event as a whole. They all were “Kicking” because The LACS picked out all the openers themselves!! Most of the bands have played with The LACS some place before and deserves an article within themselves. Iceman, and bands, that’s gonna take me a minute. For this article, I am sticking to The LACS and LACtoberfest. You asked for more talent Boss; well here you go. I told each band about www.bestcountryradio.com, so here was the line up of openers for Molly Hatchet. Yep, the LACS had Molly Hatchet as Friday night’s headliner; still rocking out southern style after four decades!

Bands kicking Friday night off was Salazar, Amber DeLacruz, Nate Kenyon, and finally The Daniel Lee Band. Yeah, Iceman, you missed your boy Daniel Lee. As I said, they all rocked so you are going to like the others too; if they submit their cd’s to you! Then, on Saturday Night, amping things up even more after playing in the mud all day; opening acts for The LACs were: 3CC (Third Class Citizens), The Luke Martin Band, Nate Kenyon, The Roadrunnerz, then The LAC’s…

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks, Rebecca Patrick and Tanya Williams for the pics, I can’t give this event justice in the written word. The best pictures and videos can be found on each bands or fans Facebook pages. Hopefully you will hear from some of these bands, Iceman. They all ROCKED the Big Nasty Mud Park!!!! Thanks to The LACS for saying Thank You to their fans!!

That could be the end of the article BUT for those who don’t know The LACS: they are two young men, Clay “Uncle Snap” Sharpe and Brian “Rooster” King that honestly could be considered the pioneers of “Country Rappers”. They may not be as much of a household name (depending on what household), as some of the more well known “country rappers”, but the truth of the matter is this: if you are the first one to do something, that makes you a pioneer.

The “new genre” of music being referred to as “Hick Hop”, the “Hick” version of Hip Hop isn’t really that new at all. These guys have been at this for over 14 years. Hailing from the small town of Baxley, GA and creating a fan base of around 526,000 people, their videos have up to 14 Million views (Kickin’ Up Mud), and The LACS have not even had a “single release” on radio. Do you think the same could be said for just any other band out there if they had limited radio play? Think about it.

On October 20, 2014 at 4:04PM. The LAC’S song off their NEW ALBUM,”Nothing In Particular”, the single,”Country Boys Paradise”, was put into rotation with The “Iceman's Top 40", where The Fans can GO and Vote on www.bestcountryradio.com on a weekly basis!!

There has been a lot of controversy in the country music industry as to whether this kind of music is “Country” or not. It isn’t Traditional Country and no one claims it to be. The LACS simply do what they do, feeling blessed to be able to; they just happen to do a real good job of it! They sing/rap about Mud Bogging-getting down and dirty, Drankin’ a little, and just life. Telling stories about good ole country boys and girls having fun. What about that is not country? If you can take city boys and girls that don’t know “diddly sqaut” about living in the country and hand them a song to sing; does that make them country? Something to think about.

I think David Allen Coe said it best with his song,

“If That Ain’t Country, I’ll Kiss Your …”.

Fact is: The LACS 3rd ALBUM, “Keep It Redneck” debuted at #3 on Billboards Magazine Top Country Albums chart as #3 in August 2013 AND #8 on Top Rap Albums , right behind Florida Georgia Line #2, and Luke Bryan #1. The LACS Sophomore Album “190 Proof” debuted at #11 on Billboards Top Country Album charts and stayed in the top 100 for 58 consecutive weeks. So, if there are only 52 Weeks in a year?….That is more than one year!! Anyway, The LACS wrote and performed the theme songs for Animal Planet’s "Mud Lovin' Rednecks", The Outdoor Channel’s “Moultrie’s Hit List”, and CMT’s “Party Down South” uses some of The LACS tunes.

Most Recently: THE LACS - NOTHING IN PARTICULAR

“With more than 150 live shows already under their belt in 2014, Backroad Records’ recording duo, The LACS, have added another 22 cities to the calendar as they lead up to the release of their rare “fan favorites” project, this month, “Nothing In Particular.” The band is also celebrating an incredible 49-week continuous run on Billboard’s Hot Country Albums chart with their current album, “Keep It Redneck,” which has sold more than 80,000 albums since its release.”

As far as NEXT YEAR, THE LACS FEST WILL BE IN SEPTEMBER , and is getting a new name. Also, be sure to check out

They are all over the map between now and the end of the year. The LACS may be coming to your neck of the woods, you don’t want to miss out if they do.

Well, that's a wrap for me. Fans of the LACS and all the other bands mentioned here; check out the “Iceman” Visit his website at www.BestCountryRadio.com to listen to the station and see whats happening in the world of New Country Music. He has been making some Noise for himself and others! SAME as The LACS. I tried to kidnap you, “Iceman”, when you were on the East Coast in South Carolina; kicking it with Sabin Sharpe, Prevo Rodgers, Jr, D-Wayne Moore, and all them other Moon-Shining Hillbillies that didn’t help me!!! Y’all know who you are and I know you hate you missed it!!!! HA! HA! But I hear that y'all are doing it again at the Sylvia November 26th, adding The Southern Experience Band. Check out "my girl" I just met from the Carolinas', Tanya Williams and the Roadrunnerz... More about that later!
