Wow, what a way to start a year! You go girl!!! You too ICEMAN!
Country girls and boys, if you have not heard of Ms. Abbi Scott, hold on to your hats and put your boots on, cause this girl means business and she just graduated from high school.
While other teenagers Abbi's age were wanting to go to farm tours and arena shows; Abbi Scott was the opening act for the same!! A few headliners that Abbi has opened for are: Luke Bryan. Dierks Bentley, Lee Brice, Cole Swindell, Jana Kramer, Maggie Rose, Trick Pony, Dustin Lynch, Confederate Railroad, David Bradley, Josh Thompson, and more.
Not to name drop, just saying...
At first, I thought Abbi just had to be from Georgia, but I guess Georgia's own Brantley Gilbert IS right in saying that "Country is Country-Wide". Abbi Scott is actually from Indiana, but is just as country as they come. She is a four-wheeler riding, fishing, deer hunting, duck hunting, camo wearing, country music singing, kind of girl. In addition to having all of these wonderful inbred talents, naturally I might add, Abbi's voice is traditional and that is so refreshing in a mainstream world of whining. Being a Georgia country girl myself, I did sort of put Abbi on the spot when I asked what was her most exciting career credit so far... Abbi said opening up for Georgia boys Luke Bryan and Cole Swindell were two of the top ones, but she has loved them all the same....
Abbi knew since she was a little girl that she wanted to be a country music singer according to her mom, Cristi Scott:
"I've always said that Abbi is truly a gift from God. She's the hardest working artist (maintaining a college career as well with a 3.5 GPA); has a drive that is incomparable; has opened up for so many big names; and she's just as genuine as you could possibly imagine. We have discovered a lot along the way, met some amazing people... All in all, Abbi has shared her journey with not only her family but the amazing fans."
Cristi continues: "Her career started to propel after the Texaco Country Showdown in Terre Haute, IN with WTHI HI99 where she won 1st place and was the youngest of all performers (including artists & bands). She went on to the Indiana State Fairgrounds to compete at the state level. She had radio that believed in her, songwriters that opened the door to Nashville, and connections with pro-writers & individuals that she calls friends to this very day. "
"Not Too Shabby Abbi!!!"
Currently, Abbi is going in to record her new albulm. The title can not be disclosed at this time, but it will be ready for release in the latter part of February 2015. She will be recording all new songs with Nashville hit songwriters at The Tater Shack recording studio in Nashville, TN. The album is being produced by the legendary, Grammy Winning Songwriter, Phillip White, who has had cuts with Kenny Rogers, George Strait, Rascal Flatts, Tanya Tucker, Gary Allan, Blake Shelton, Blackhawk, Chris Ledoux, including the 2002 NSAI and ACM song of the year, “I am Movin’ On”, and Reba’s theme song for her popular Friday night sitcom “I am A Survivor”. White also co-wrote the Reba’s last top ten single, “He Gets That From Me”.
Again, not name dropping, just saying.....WOW!!!
I can't wait to hear Abbi Scott's new music! When I asked which song on the new albulm she thought she liked the most, the title she responded with is
"Yesterday's Daisies".
Without even hearing the song, the title alone just adds to the anticipation of what is to sure to come for Abbi Scott and her field of dreams.
